Aunties should be established yoginis who enjoy working collectively. Living ashram-style in a small
house on the beautiful Nirmal Nagari land, aunties take turns with the teachers leading morning and
evening meditations and footsoaks, as well as weekend havans and pujas.
Education at the International Sahaj School is holistic in nature. Every
part of the day is considered part of the educational process. The
aunties are therefore also teachers, helping the children build respect
for self and others, as well as for the beautiful surrounding nature. The
aunties are primary caregivers for the children during the term. From
morning wakeup through bedtime treatments, the aunties look after
every aspect of the children's care. Each auntie has approximately 5
children in her dorm. In addition to care for the children, the aunties
take turns cooking the meals and looking after the ashram. The aunties
also supervise the children at playtime and help with Sahaja class. Aunties with a skill to share can
teach regular or occasional classes in arts or games or nature activities.

Spring term will run from March 16 to June 8. The international Adi Shakti puja will be in Canajoharie
on June 23. If you have any questions, email volunteer@sahajschool.org. Applications may be found
online at: http://www.sahajschool.org/school_term_volunteer.
Preference will be given to applicants who either do not require visas, or come from countries with a
visa reciprocity agreement with the USA, unless the applicant desires to come for several terms.
