Bergen is located at the West Coast of the country of Norway. It is called the
gateway to the fjords of Norway, which is quite right because the fjords can
be reached easily from there. It is surrounded by seven mountains, which have
created two sayings about us in Bergen. One includes the element of water,
which can be felt and experienced almost 200 days per years in different forms
of rainfall!

With the seven mountains surrounding Bergen it could be said to be
the Sahasrara
of Norway! Many people have got their selfrealisation here and the number
of Sahaja yogis is growing steadily. Sahaja yoga was started in Bergen in 1997
and after continuous work from yogis and yoginis from Belgium and other countries,
a major group of Sahaja yogis has established itself in the city where the
Vikings
used to walk, 1000 years back.

We have got many blessings from working with Sahaja Yoga and receiving the
true knowledge from Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. We have discovered that many
of us enjoy working with art and music. The idea of having a music seminar
was born at the Adi Shakti puja of 2003. We discussed the idea with musicians
from the Nordic countries to have a meeting in October. Göran from Sweden
joined us, accompanied by the Indian tabla player Ravindranath Sudankar. We
invited yogis to come and enjoy a weekend of vibrations and music. During the
seminar we were 25 people from Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and India at the
Shri Sarasvati puja! All gathered in front of an altar nicely decorated by
the yoginis.

Songs were written before the seminar and we had a concert performing these
and other songs. It was very inspiring and enjoyable. We could all feel the
love and the vibrations flowing after hours of singing and collective creativity.

It is so true that music and art is the language of the heart. When words
fall short, music finds the way to our hearts, and enlightens the Spirit. The
music seminar in Bergen gave an important input to the future work of Sahaja
Yoga, expressed through our creativity, song and music. We hope to continue
to enjoy being collective and spread the message of love through music and
singing.

A trip to one of the seven mountains, Fløyen.
