Since the first realization was given in PI (Penintentiaire Inrichting) Vught,
Mother's vibrations keep on working there. Not only the colleagues noticed the
positive changes of the boys, but the director as well. Soon he gave Edwin official
permission for a weekly Sahaja Yoga program in unit 6. Normally external people
are not allowed to do programs in PI Vught since it is the best protected prison
of the Netherlands with very strict rules.
But Mother helped the director in making an exception: once a month 'external'
Sahaja Yogis can give program in prison. Not only in the adults prison, but
in the youth prison as well. Of course there are also negative forces who try
to attack us, but it's amazing how Mother always works out everything:
Like the Catholic and Protestant church who tried to stop us from using the
Silence room. They also said that if Sahaja Yoga is a religion they don't want
the programs to be held in PI Vught at all. We asked Mother "Please let
Justice be done in this country of the Left Nabi" and so it happened.
The director made it very clear "The silence room belongs to PI Vught
and not to the church. It is I who decide what programs should be held here.
Since I gave permission to Sahaja Yoga, I also gave permission to use the silence
room".
In the beginning when the boys used to walk with their foot soak bowl to the
silence room, the other prisoners used to laugh at them asking if they were
going to wash dishes during the Yoga session. This laughing thing did not last
very long for our boys were too much in balance and did not react. Then Andy
"a big negro with dreadlocks who was the leader of the teasers" came
to me. This time he was serious and curious to know about the bowl. When he
heard the use of it, he said "really, is taking foot soaks also part of
Yoga?". Believe it or not, this same Andy is now also practicing Sahaja
Yoga and is also marching in the bowl row. If anyone dares to make jokes about
the marching Yogis, Andy tells them "hey, hey, no jokes about Sahaja Yoga
for it is a very deep thing".
One day suddenly a Muslim prisoner appeared who tried to stop the Muslims from
joining the program. After shoebeating on him he became very quiet and stopped
troubling others. The colleagues wondered what happened to him. This Muslim
boy even considered joining the program, but then he got moved to anther prison.
And now 2 Muslim boys have taken to Sahaja Yoga.
Most colleagues write very positive about Sahaja Yoga in the weekly Unit-reports.
It is just a small group of negative colleagues who try to make fun of it. Last
week the number one negative colleague had to read the Department-report in
front of the director and priests. While reading the part of Sahaja Yoga being
the most popular activity with the highest score of interest, he tried to make
some negative jokes about it, hoping that others would join him, but no one
did.
They all remained silent and looked at him very serious, so he had to stop
giggling. And guess who gave us this information? A priest who now says "this
Yoga must be good". In November the program was given by Vatsala, a Yogini
from Germany. In December the program was given by Henno, Ludo and Mohan.
The next months the program will be given by whoever wishes. Vatsala's program.
Who is Vatsala? One day, after meditation, the boys asked if there are also
ex-prisoners in Sahaja Yoga. We told them the story we had once heard of a lady
who escaped from a German prison and took the first flight to Nepal. And officially
got back her freedom after taking to Sahaja Yoga.
Being impressed by this story the boys asked if we personally knew this Yogini
and if it was possible to contact her. But we had no name, nothing. A few days
later we received an e-mail from a German Yogini who encouraged us to go on
spreading Sahaja Yoga in prison. She turned out to be Vatsala, the one the boys
had asked for. She also began writing the boys and they wrote her back. And
in November Vatsala visited PI Vught. She talked about the "real prison"
of which everybody must come out to remain in the present, the union with God.
By the questions one could see that the boys were introspecting themselves
"Okay, I want to become a better person, what must I do?" The forgiveness
aspect of God impressed the boys "then God is like a Mother. Only a Mother
can do that, loving and forgiving you unconditionally". One colleague,
a Security lady who asked if she could stay only 5 minutes, stayed from the
beginning till the end of the session.
The meditation was also very deep, especially with Jaco singing the mantras
so beautiful. Vatsala said that she could feel in him a long lost brother who
is finally found. The story of Jaco The story of Jaco itself is also very beautiful.
He was schizophrenic, hearing voices all the time, totally out of balance, his
body was shaking all the time, the whole day he was lying on his bed, never
talked and his hair and beard were just growing and growing.
On the day of his Self Realization he did not want to stop meditating. That
same night he started shaking until the next day. The doctors had to come and
thought that it was part of his sickness. We knew that the Kundalini was destroying
the possession, but kept our mouth. If you see Jaco now, he has changed completely.
The boy who used to shake is now in balance. Within one week he had his hair
cut and shaved his beard. He continued doing the Yoga exercises and a week later
he started working in the cleaning group. He started communicating with the
other boys, could even laugh at their jokes and became very collective. And
stopped taking the medicines of the doctors.
Henno, Ludo and Mohan's program. When the boys dropped in they were greeting
each other with "hey mafia, hey chino, hey chan chan" and all sorts
of gangster nick names which they usually don't do when they come to the program.
Maybe it was because this was the first time they saw so many male Yogis. We
(Henno, Mohan, Ludo) had a healthy sense of excitement before we started the
program.
The fact is that we were really bathing in the vibrations all through the program.
Henno coincidentally started with a similar analogy like Vatsala and said "You
may be in a prison of stone walls where you cannot decide yourself when you
come out. But there is another prison that all human beings suffer from, which
is the prison of our thoughts. This prison, everybody can choose themselves
when they want to go out of it." That could sound rather confrontational,
but the fact is that with the boys one can be fairly direct and one does not
need to overly diplomatic.
After a short introduction by Edwin and Dulcy and a not too long talk by Henno,
we meditated and listened to a talk of Shri Mataji. The vibrations became stronger
and stronger. After that we had a question and answer session which was very
good. Many inmates are struggeling with feelings of self-condemnation and/or
not being able to forgive "others." One very sensible boy asked "Does
God always forgive?" So we had some very lively discussions with the boys
about such matters and we later understood from Edwin that they appreciated
that.
So there are more opportunities in the future for others to also join in on
these meetings. Also for the Sahaja Yogis it is a very valuable experience.
We like to thank all the Yogis who put their attention on the prison programs
and ask you to give all the seekers who are in prison a bandan.
Lots of love,
Edwin,Dulcy Vatsala, Radhika, Madhavi Henno, Mohan Ludo
The boys from PI Vught
Jai Shri Mataji !
