Dear Brothers and Sisters, Jay Shri Mataji!
We're very joyfully coming back from our local seminar in Brasília, Brazil. As you may know, we have some free days during the Carnival period, and this is a good time to get together in a Seminar. There were 28 people, some new yogis from our colletive, which is a good number for local seminars here in Brazil, including 5 newcomers from Goiânia, a city 2,5 hours away from Brasilia, where we're putting a lot of effort and attention to establish SY. So these five are a victory!
It was in a little farm, 1.5 hours away, owned by uncle Adelio, the local Brasilia leader. At this time of the year there is usually heavy rains during day and night, but clouds are light and alternate with sun, which creates very beautiful landscapes, that constantly changes it's green colours.
The theme of the seminar was "Recognition and Devotion".
On Saturday, the 21st, the morning meditation was conducted by uncle Frazao, and we listened to the talk where Mother asks yogis "what is compulsory, what you do you have to give in SY". The answer is to recognize Her as the Adi Shakti, the most important condition for the new ones. Also we had many testimonies from brothers and sisters on "how was your recognition moment?". It was just amazing to listen to unknown stories from many yogis you've been doing SY with for some years! What vibrations! We, that thought it would be a seminar for newcomers, began to understand that it was for all of us to grow!
In the afternoon we had a very rich talk "Sahaj Culture and Collective". Aunty Angela Cavalcante told us a relation between "culture" and "cultivation", as proposed by uncle Eduardo Marino in an earlier seminar, meaning we have to cultivate our state of being realized at a personal level, collective level, in the work of SY and in the care with our children. To meditate, introspect, locate our innocence, self knowledge, detachment from material comfort, unconditional love, have discipline, really do the treatments and decide everything on vibrations. The essencial notion to be collective, because the Spirit is collective, the carefulness in the brother/sister relationship, the responsibility of keeping the collective united, without letting negativity work out traps to destroy it. At night we had a havan with the powerful names of Shri Shiva.
On Sunday, there was sun for a while :-) and we did a shoebeat on the beautiful grass sari of our Mother Bhoomi Devi in the morning. Following this there was another fantastic talk on "Recognition and devotion in SY", by aunty Virginia, where she summarized the main ideas of "La Mer et La Spiritualite" book and the talk of uncle Duilio on "Devotion and Surrender" he made in Italy. So we learned how the Mother God was forgotten from the ancient humans till the very appropriate question posed by uncle Duilio: what would I loose by embracing SY, if were a fake? Maybe something, but what will I loose if it's what it's said to be, the only and greatest chance of many lives of seeking? It was truly amazing for the new ones and the so called "old ones" !!! Still such a lot to learn yet!
In the afternoon, puja preparations, and everybody working! In the night a wonderful Shri Shiva Puja, where we watched to the Shivaratri 2001. We put the newcomers to offer elements, decorate Mother feet - little embarassed but very happy they felt themselves!
On Monday, aunt Edna played the tape where Mother talks about the subtle side of the elements. In the afternoon we watched to the Ramayana (cartoon). At some points we stopped and explained what was the subtle meaning of the great story. Many said that they had never understood the real meaning of many passages, like why Shri Rama had to obey His father promisses, why Shri Hanuman didn't took Shri Sita out of Lanka, etc.
In the night, vibration changing.
On Thursday morning, aunt Angela Jesus brought the tape where Mother talks about "Dedication through meditation" - a very deep one. Then we played Leela (Canadian Play), where we had to introspect on Mother's phrase each one of us picked up. Amazingly very precise to each one!
Uncle Adelio said some words at the end, and we could hear some of the newcomers commenting, " I have been searching for a lap for a long time, but didn't know where to find it. Now that I know who Mother is", "I got enchanted from the very first moment by Her smile", "Thank you very much, please don't leave me behind". These was the declarations from seekers that have travelled a long way in life so I found it very deep, and it became evident that we must give the new yogis this experience of a Seminar. Uncle Adelio gave us a precious gift, the prayer to self-improvement (from the Advices at Chelsam Road 800926).
We had much time to talk to each other. Everyone said the talks were of a very high level and the vibrations were compatiple with a national seminar, and that we need more of this. Definitely, one main point was that uncle Adelio managed to find the proper themes, yogis and scheduled everything in a real divine way. Former seminars were not so well organized, and this time the collective showed it's maturity. The rain hardly gave us a chance to step outside the house, and everyone was living together in harmony, with no quarrels, and each one knowing where to be and what to do - an insight into what our future societies will be like.
