Gurgaon, India - April 14th: Yesterday Gudi Padwa Puja was performed at Shri Mataji's Palam Vihar residence. The Puja program was held at the terrace garden of Shri Mataji's house. The
puja started around 7:30 - 8:00 PM in the evening.
Shri Mataji spoke about the importance of the lunar calender. She said, that
the Indians have always had calenders according to the movement of the moon...
as opposed to the Western calender based on the sun. This is because the moon
has more effect on us than the sun. She gave an example of how the full moon
night and the new moon night have an influence on a patient suffering from epilepsy.
The Moon affects our left side and we know very little about our left side.
Because of the difference between the 2 types of calenders all our festivals
fall on different days every year. Gudi Padwa is the 1st of the New Year. The
Shalivahanas celebrated this day by praying to the Kundalini. The Shalivahanas
was also called Satvahanas as they knew the knowledge of the 7 centres.
Shri Mataji said that Indian culture is very deep and it has an in-depth knowledge
and that we Sahaja Yogis should read books like the Puranas, which will give
us an exlanation of a lot of things like the importance of KaliYug. She said
that these books are available in Delhi itself and that She had bought them
here & read them.
It was a 15-20 minute lecture & it was followed by the puja ceremony.
