Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It gives us great joy to invite all our brothers and sisters to worship our Satguru Param Pujya H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi together in New York. You are all welcome on the weekend of Friday, July 22nd to Sunday, 24th.
The puja will be in the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel in Rutherford, New Jersey which is near Newark airport and also close to Shri Mataji's residence in New Jersey.
During the puja weekend, the host countries will offer entertainment programs on Friday and Saturday evenings, and the puja will be performed on Sunday. An informative website with puja seminar details is being created.
Let us join together in great numbers to offer our love and gratitude to our Holy Guru Mother.
Hotel
Arrangements with the hotel have not yet been finalized so it is not possible to provide full information at this time. As in previous pujas at hotels in the US, we are hoping to negotiate the puja room rate for yogis arriving a few days early and staying a few days after the puja.
Please do not contact the hotel yet since this reduced rate is not currently available. Please note that the hotel check-in time is 4 pm, so rooms will not be available until then or later. We will be arranging an area for yogis who arrive before 4 pm on Friday to complete the puja registration process and to wait for rooms to become available, if necessary.
The first meal included in the puja registration cost is Friday night dinner; the last meal provided is Sunday dinner.
About half of the available rooms at the hotel contain two large beds, and half have only one large bed so it would be advisable to bring a light sleeping bag.
Accommodations in the New York/New Jersey area
The puja website will provide information about affordable hotels and hostels in New York City and
the surrounding area.
New Jersey ashram is currently being used to accomodate the yogis who are
involved in Shri Mataji’s stay, and hence it would not be possible to
accomodate any visiting yogis. Also, respecting Shri Mataji’s privacy, yogis
are requested not to come to Her house or the ashram unless specifically
requested.
Yogis who come early or stay late may either stay at the puja hotel or arrange for their own stay at local hotels. It is not possible for the local yogis or hosting countries to provide rides or accommodations for yogis who arrive early or stay after the puja.
Transportation
The nearest airport is Newark airport, which is only about 20 minutes from the hotel. There is airport shuttle service from other New York airports (JFK and LaGuardia) to Newark. Philadelphia airport is about 1.5 hours by car from the hotel. Taxi service from Newark airport is about $US 40.
An outside shuttle service will be available for yogis to travel from Newark airport to the hotel on Thursday, Friday and Monday at a reduced rate. This cost is not included in the puja registratation fee. For detailed transportation information, please access the puja website which will be available shortly.
Puja Registration
The cost of the puja registration will be announced shortly and communicated to country leaders. Due to the short notice to arrange for this puja in the US, it is not possible to arrange for puja pre-registration payments. However, we would like to collect information about yogis planning to attend the puja in advance. A form to submit this information will be sent shortly to country leaders and to US and Canadian center leaders.
