ISPS Dharamsala was founded by Shri Mataji in 1990.
From an original 30 pupils, the school now has nearly
250 students, from Class 1 (6 year olds) to Class 9
(14 year olds). There are about 65 international
dormitory, administration and teaching staff, who live
on-site in a spectacular setting below the 5,000 metre
peaks of the Dhawalgiri Himalaya.
The school is constantly changing and developing - and
with a number of new building projects, a refreshed
syllabus, and a new emphasis on creative learning and
extra curricular activities, this is an exciting time
to join this great project.
We will have a number of vacancies for the 2006
session, which runs from the end of March, after
Birthday Puja, to Christmas Puja. We will need
dormitory staff, some teaching staff, and some
activity teachers, plus Yuva Shakti, and others who
can offer something to the children and the school
(arts and crafts / scouting / metalwork / go-kart
building / film-making / drama etc), even if only for
a 3 month period (teaching and dorm staff should stay
for the full 9 months). If you are interested, please
contact jamiemhume@yahoo.co.uk for details of vacant
positions. Please include in your email what you
would like to do, when you could come, and how long
you can stay for.
Regardless of your speciality, the fundamental
qualities required at the school are as follows:
- Energy, flexibility, and initiative. The more each individual can add
to the life of the school, both within and beyond
their designated post, the more we can enjoy together
and with the children.
- Desire to live in a large Sahaj collective. and to form part
of the staff team that underpins everything the school
stands for.
- A loving, caring and 100% Sahaj approach to living
and working with children and adults.
What you gain from the experience of working at
Dharamshala will of course depend on you - but if you
are ready for what may genuinely be the experience of
a lifetime, if you wish to help realize Shri Mataji's
vision for all that this unique place can be, and what
we Her children can achieve here, and if you have the
stomach for the 12 hour bus journey from Delhi, then
the school is ready to welcome you with open arms.
Who is the best Sahaja Yogi?
The one who enjoys the most.
