Dearest Sahaja Yogis, Leaders and Co-ordinators,

Jai Shri Mataji

It has been our experience that a little bit of co-ordination from the organizing countries for the kitchen was a big, big help to run the kitchen quite easily. Of course is also nice and helpful if the Indian girls from the organizing countries come to help for the cooking.

Basically two people are necessary, one lady to co-ordinate the people who comes to help in the kitchen, lets call it "Organizing-Country Kitchen Co-ordinator", and a second (man or lady) to co-ordinate the serving and cleaning in the kitchen area, lets call it "Serving and Cleaning Co-ordinator".

For the "Organizing-Country Kitchen Co-ordinator" the job is basically to recruit the people and arrange "shifts" of say 5 hours. She should be available in the kitchen so we can always co-ordinate with her all what needs to be prepared (peeled, chopped, washed, etc.)

For the people who come for helping, the following shifts are suggested:

First shift from 06:00 to 11:30
Second shift from 11:00 to 17:30
Third shift from 17:00 to .....

There should always be 2 men permanently in the kitchen to keep the fire and lift the pots (impossible for ladies). According to the needs, groups of about 10 to 15 ladies are needed for every shift.

For the "Serving and Cleaning Co-ordinator" the job is:

For the Serving:
Organize the serving team, lets say 8 to 12 people (according to how many tables will be set for serving). He/She should also organize an settle all what is needed for serving (plates, cups, trays, cutlery, etc.) and be in contact with the cooking team to know when the food is ready and how it is to be served.

For the cleaning:
Take care that all the materials needed for washing up and rubbish disposal (soaps, sponges, rubbish bags and other items) are available in the kitchen as well in the washing area near the serving area. Get someone in-charge of emptying the rubbish bins from the kitchen as soon as there are full and disposing the rubbish in the containers near the hangar (someone with a car). Organize a washing up team for after the meals and specially for Monday after the puja so all the things and stuff is washed up and kept in proper order in the storerooms.

As normally we start with the preparations already on Friday morning, it would be great that already all the pots and utensils are washed up and prepared by Thursday evening or Friday morning latest.

Kitchen towels are always very welcome and it could be requested to the ladies from the organizing countries to bring one with them.
