In the month of May 2002 Anushaktinagar collectivity had organized a Sahaja
Yoga meditation "SUMMER CAMP" for the benefit of employees of department
of Atomic Energy and their families in BARC colony located in Mumbai.
The summer camp was organized for four weeks starting from 5 May 2002; every
Sunday for one hour followed by two follow up programmes in the centre on 1st
June 2002 and 8th June 2002. On Sahasrara day 5th May 2002 the participants
were introduced with Sahaj Yoga, benefits of practicing Sahaj Yoga meditation
in daily life, the importance of attention how it gets divided with luring attractions
available in modern era. They were introduced how to get balancing of nadis
done and after this they were given collective realization.
With the blessings of Shri Mataji the flow of vibrations was tremendous. Almost
every body experienced the flow but many of them were not able to put it in
the word form as it seemed almost unbelievable to get the cool breeze from one's
own head. In the second week's Sunday the participants were told further information
on how Sahaj Yoga meditation helps to achieve physical and mental health. Again
balancing and nine steps affirmative meditation was practiced. They were asked
whether they had practiced at home and whether they felt vibrations. Obviously
some participants practiced and also they felt the vibrations.
Next Sunday the participants were introduced with detailed subtle system, the
correlation of Chakras, nadis with diseases and also with good qualities. At
this stage participants were introduced the raising of Kundalini and taking
bandhan.
The importance of taking bandhan and when to take it. After this the participants
were practically shown how to do salt water foot soaking. On last Sunday once
again the participants practiced balancing, bandhan, meditation. Activities
carried out during the summer camp were summarized. At this point of time the
participants were informed about who is Shri Mataji, her childhood, her family
life and when she started Sahaja Yoga, what is her mission today and what is
her vision for the entire world.
They were provided with the photographs of Shri Mataji, introduction books,
some of the articles photocopied from our magazines and also some information
downloaded from Sahaj Yoga official web site was given on floppies. The participants
were asked to come for two weeks follow up programmes in Anushaktinagar centre.
In first follow up a videocassette depicting speech by Shri Mataji at Perth,
Australia was shown.
The next follow up consisted of meditation and information on importance of
Aarti, Pooja and bandhan and also importance of regular practice of meditation.
Over all we observed that about 65 to 70 persons registered for the camp. About
45 to 50 participants were present on all Sundays, 80% of them completed all
4 Sundays about 25 seekers came to the centre for two follow-ups. And only one
lady seeker still continuing to come to centre from this summer camp.
It was distinctly observed during the camp that the strength of men was more
than women and that is some thing surprising looking at general men to women
ratio in almost all the centers. The other interesting fact is that most of
the participants except one felt good vibrations during summer camp and many
of them felt vibration even while meditating at home.
Some of the participants even practiced foot soaking at home. With all this
experience we feel that "One day" public programme may not be adequately
informative to attract the seekers. Such a six-week programme is good enough
to attach people for that many days. We feel more needs to be done to retain
the people in Sahaja Yoga. We wonder where are we lacking. Information? Knowledge?
Refined Presentation? or just the vibrations? Or may be its only the mothers
desire? We pray to Shri Mataji to enlighten us on this matter.
But the true seeker does not need all these for whom just a single invitation
card of mother's public program is enough or may be her photograph, poster in
newspaper. These true seekers stick to Sahaja Yoga as soon as they come in contact
with Sahaja Yoga meditation.
JAI SHRI MATAJI.
