Dear brothers and sisters,
With the start of new year in Cabella we would like to offer some suggestions for yogis who wish to travel there. As airport pick ups are only available during puja periods you will need to come by car or use public transport.
The following information may be useful:
The exit from the A7 Motorway is Arquata Scrivia after the toll turn right, Cabella is signposted, it’s about 20 kilometres.
- From Genoa follow Milano Serravale NOT Milano Alessandria
- From Milano follow Genova Serravale
- From Bergamo follow Milano then Linate then Genoa, stay on the A7 until Arquata Scrivia
- Follow road signs, not your sat nav (some of them prefer goat tracks through the mountains)
Public transport to Arquata Scrivia
There are buses to Milano Central Station and trains to Milano Cadorna, the bus is more useful as trains to go to Arquata Scrivia (Cabella) leave from Centrale. Buses take about an hour and go regularly until quite late
There are regular buses to Milano Centrale however an alternative that can save you time is to take a taxi to the station of Rogoredo, it’s not far from Linate and is the first stop on the line going down to Arquata Scrivia. Trains reach there about ten minutes after leaving Centrale and normally stop at platform 6, check that the train is going to stop at Arquata Scrivia!
Milan Orio al Serio
There are buses to Milano Central Station, they take about an hour and go regularly until quite late. There is only one train a day that coincides with a bus to Cabella; it leaves Centrale station at 16*25. The last bus from Arquata Scrivia to Cabella leaves at 22*37
Please remember that the last train from Milano to Arquata leaves Centrale station at 22*15 so if your flight arrives after 20*00 you may not be in time for this train. As this train arrives in Arquata Scrivia after the last bus has left for Cabella you will need to ask for help.
If you are returning by public transport be aware that the first morning train from Arquata arrives in Milan Central Station at 07*45 a.m., this means that you will not arrive at Malpensa or Bergamo before 09*00 a.m. and therefore it is going to be difficult to arrive in time for flights home before 10*30 a.m.
In brief if you are travelling by public transport via a Milan airport your flight should arrive before 20*00 and leave after 10*30.
