Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are writing to invite you to join us in organising the Cabella World Festival that will take place in the five days separating Krishna Puja and Ganesha Puja, between the 17th and the 21st August. We expect at least 1,000 sahaja yogis to attend and would like to make the most of the opportunity to create, like two years ago, a great collective event, full of joy and exuberance; but also a profoundly spiritual experience in which each one of us can deepen the connection with our beloved Mother and discover new dimensions to our meditation.
We really need everyone’s help and goodwill to make it a success. Please support us; we cannot do it without you.
The festival will be managed in much the same way as pujas are, with the difference that there are no ‘hosting countries’. Everyone will be both host and participant so our aim is to try and create a truly global atmosphere of collaboration, love and mutual support.
Kitchen
Each day a different country (or group of countries) will be asked to create a team to take charge of managing the kitchen. For the moment, however, we are looking for people with experience in this area who are willing and able to be the point of reference. This could be one person or couple of people who, between them, are able to cook for large numbers and manage a team that will run the kitchen for one day, cooking for 1,000 people, serving and cleaning up.
General Organisation
There are a range of other jobs that will need to be taken care of during the festival, such as selling food vouchers, keeping the camp clean, managing the stage etc. Here too we are looking for volunteers who are willing and able.
Content Management
The festival will have a day programme and an evening programme. The evening programme will offer a range of entertainment including music, dance and theatre. The day programme will focus on workshops and seminars of general interest.
We would like to set up two small event management teams, one responsible for putting together the day programme and another for the evening programme. Their job will involve screening requests from people who wish to contribute to the programme and then putting together a final schedule of events for the week. They would also be responsible for coordinating the programme during the festival itself.
Obviously, we are looking for mature yogis with the necessary cultural background to carry out such a role.
In all cases we are looking for yogis with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good management and organisational skills and who cope well under stress. You do not have to be a long-standing yogi, but simply someone with the desire to express their love for Shri Mataji through service to the collective.
If you are interested please write to robert.hunter@sahajaworldfoundation.org before the 1st July, providing your name, surname, country and contact details.
With love and respect, The Executive Committee Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Sahaja Yoga World Foundation |
