Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The Vancouver Sahaj School (VSS) is looking for yogis to join our collective in Vancouver, Canada and help the school grow as it takes the next step forward in its development. It is situated in the beautiful large Ashram , in Surrey, British Columbia , and was originally purchased by Shri Mataji and Sir CP for the Vancouver collective. It is a true vibrational joy lovingly supported by our talented and dynamic collective.
Last year in its inauguration year the school was home to children in the grades 7, 8 and 9. These are children who have all grown up in Sahaj Education in Dharamshala, Rome and Canajoharie schools.
VSS would like to welcome dedicated yogis who could come and help us expand the school to fulfill Shri Mataji's Vision of establishing Sahaj Education in the western world.
Our desire is to establish a School that will foster Sahaj Values and form an important bridge for children who come back from Dharamshala and wish to be educated in a vibrationally supportive environment . Academic excellence will flourish in an atmosphere which nourishes and supports the Sahaj values of balance, spiritual growth, wisdom and innocence. The well being of the whole child will grow through love,meditation and, respect as inspired by Shri Mataji herself.
We can offer board and stay including meals. We may be able to help out with transportation if needed. Ideally you would be able to come for a period of three months starting in September. Currently the school is scheduled to start September 14th 2009. So we would appreciate hearing back from you as soon as possible.
There is a really active collective here with many weekly programs, and a chance to make a difference. Vancouver's nature is unbelievable and very beautiful, sporting many natural parks, beaches and of course the Pacific Ocean, all close by. This is a really rare and great chance!!
We are looking for one Teaching Assistant and for one to two Dorm Aunties/Uncles. We are also looking also for a Cook.
Teaching Assistant
The Teaching assistant will help to instruct the children in some areas of the curriculum; lessons would be planned for you. The Teaching assistant would also help out with various outside activities such as swimming or nature explorations.
Must Have Requirements:
- An established Sahaja Yogi/Yogini who understands Sahaj values
- Have a strong desire and commitment to working in a Sahaj environment for the education and development of Sahaj culture and values and nourishment of sahaj youth.
- Knowledge of Sahaj culture, Sahaj practices and clearing techniques
Nice to Have Requirements
- Some teaching experience or experience working with children
- Experience working with Intermediate age children
- A willingness to help with house keeping and cooking
- A drivers license : for taking children to outside activities such as swimming etc.
- A willingness to participate in and teach Skills in different areas of the curriculum wherever possible, especially in areas such as computers, science, PE and Indian Music.
Dorm Aunties/Uncles
The Dorm Aunty/Uncle will play a vital role in the Sahaj Education of children. They will be helping out with collective meditations/workshops and have their attention on the vibrations of the school and children. Ideally this person will have patience, love and like to have a lot of fun. The Dorm Aunty/Uncle will be responsible for supervising the children when the school activities are over. A pitch in attitude is really needed here as you may be required to help out with various tasks such as helping out with preparing meals and snacks, doing some laundry from time to time.

- Have a strong desire and commitment to working in a Sahaj environment for the education and development of Sahaj culture and values and nourishment of sahaj youth.
- Knowledge of Sahaj culture, Sahaj practices and clearing techniques
Main Cook
We are looking for a main cook who will help to plan out and prepare the meals for the children living at the school. This will include lunches and dinners during the weekdays. You will be provided with cooking assistants. You will need to be creative and find great joy in feeding others.
Must Have Requirements:
- An established Sahaja Yogi/Yogini who understands Sahaj values
- Have a strong desire and commitment to working in a Sahaj environment for the education and development of Sahaj culture and values and nourishment of sahaj youth.
- Knowledge of Sahaj culture, Sahaj practices and clearing techniques
