PARAMCHAITANYA WAITED AT THE DOORSTEP OF ICELAND.. AND WAS OUR UNCONDITIONAL GUIDE FOR 9 DAYS
My desire to go for a visit kept reminding me...and Sahaja Yoga is missing
on the world map. I knew that the nature is very dramatic, that Mother Earth
has various moods: earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, many storms, dark
winters and never warm summers! I heard so many positive comments about the
people (280.000 inhab.). Their character is open and joyous.
They donīt complain about the weather!!! They are among the healthiest
people in the world and they work hard. The cultural standard is very heigh.
It seems that Kali Yuga hasnīt spoiled their moral behaviour so much.
The biggest problem is over use of alcohol during the W.E.(as in Norway!).
Ulla Johnnson (Sweden) happily accepted to join me. We booked a room in the
Youth Hostel of Reykjavik. I had the phone number from the parents of a student
who came to S.Y in ī98 in Norway. We hadnīt been in contact since,
but I hoped to meet her. We had no further information of any kind.We knew we
would depend fully on the attention of Paramchaitanya.
Our luggage contained mostly Sahaj equipment. We packed everything necessary
to arrange meetings, make publicity, do Puja... We arrived late at night in
the Youth Hostel. We caught our first "fish" after breakfast the next
morning! A Swedish lady had been in our room to clean and noticed that we had
used insence! It was not difficult to get her kundalini flowing (she is also
massaging horses, so we called her afterwards Karin, the horsewisperer). She
was very amazed about the experience and she guided us to the reception desk,
knowing some of the staff might also be interested. She was right, two joyful
ladies excepted and were equally surprised. We explained that we want to introduce
this yoga in Iceland and that we wondered if we could arrange programs during
our short stay here? The manager said: "We have an intirely equiped meeting
room...just in front of you. You can use it if you want! There is no videoplayer
at the moment, but I will go and buy one as I planned to do".
As we donīt charge money for the programs, they offered us two evenings
for free! We felt immediately very confident that our trip was observed by Paramchaitanya
and that we would not go home empty handed. We completed the anouncement on
the posters and leaflets. In the afternoon we started decorating the center
of Reykjavik with Mothers posters. It gave us such a deep, warm feeling while
doing that.
We realised that this people were totally unaware about Mothers gift and that
they too are Her children! During our postering trips, we met regularly people
who gave us very useful information for the future work. A Chinese lady (came
probably straight from heaven), took us out of a shopping center. She said:
"This is too comercial, not a good place to find what you need! We take
a buss downtown and I will bring you where you have to be!" She took us
to various interesting places for about two hours. She got her realisation.
Finally she left us, as she had to cook dinner for her husband. "Buy, buy,
good luck..." and she was gone!
Many people got realisation, also in the Youth Hostel...to many different nationalities.
Iceland is often a stop place between Europe and America. We performed a Puja
for Shri Boomi Devi in our room. The vibrations were very strong, the connection
to Mother Earth was deeply felt and opened our heart very much! We got in contact
with Sølveig (contact from ī98. She remembered me and her voice
sounded happy! We had dinner together before the program. Her sister came as
well. They looked like angels, went straight deep in meditation at the program.
They are very interested! The meetings went very well. For some a real eye opener.
People have written down names and e-mails. A lady, who was stunned by her experience,
offered a place for free for the future meetings. She is a yoga teacher for
pregnant woman.
Several people expressed the desire to continue and hoped we would come back!
It seems that many alternative practises have lost the interest of the people.
Mother once said, that Icelandic people are very wise, that they even use sanskrit
words in their language! They actually speak the old Norwegian language. But
to me, mastering a bit Norwegian, it sounds very different!
Our feeling is that it wouldnīt take too long to establish S.Y.! But
who will move up there!? If there is somebody willing to go, we can provide
lots of information. I might move for some time (missing Norway for sure!),
if Mother gives Her blessings to it! This experience proved again what Mother
says: "If you want to do something for S.Y., donīt doubt, go, it
will work out and you will be very surprised!"
We went one day side seeing. Lava mountains, geysirs, large waterfalls and finally
a swimm in the Blue Lagoon gave us a bit an impression of the Icelandic, dramatic
nature!
With love,
Rita Defruyt and Ulla Johnnson. |
