Dear brothers and sisters,

It is with great devotion, humility and gratitude to our Divine Mother Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, that the sisters of the host countries invite all of the bothers and sisters attending Shri Krishna Puja in Cabella for Raksha Bandhan on Saturday August 29, 2010 at 2 pm in the main hanger. We kindly request the sahaja yoginis to make and bring 50 collective rakhis from your center for Raksha Bandhan. These rakhis can be offered and placed in the ‘Rakhi Box’ that will be located on the stage in the main hanger.

Raksha Bandhan is an ancient and holy tradition honoring the pure relationship between the brother and sister. Raksha Bandhan provides us with the opportunity to nourish within ourselves, the qualities demonstrated in Shri Vishnumaya’s devotion, sacrifice, and love for her brother, Lord Krishna. Through this sacred tradition, we can purify our left vishuddhi chakra and please our Divine Mother, who delights in the expressions of sweetness between Her children.

To integrate the Vishuddhi chakra’s qualities of collectivity and communication with the pure brother and sister relationship, each sister will first offer a collective rakhi to a new brother. This collective rakhi’ represents the pure love of all the Sahaj sisters for this brother. Each sister performs aarti to the brother and make offerings including a bindi, rice, fragrance, the rakhi, and a sweet. These signify her respect for and recognition of the brother as a sahaja yogi as well as her promise to always look after his well-being. The heart of the offerings is the rahki thread that she ties around the brothers left wrist (the left wrist being one of the locations of the left vishuddhi chakra within the body). The rakhi thread imbibes within it the pure love and responsibility each accepts for the other. The brother’s acceptance of the rakhi, and offering of a small gift to his sister, reflects his pledge to respect and protect his sister’s chastity. Through the tying of the rakhi, we nourish and restore this holy relationship among ourselves and throughout the world. It is an honor and privilege to consecrate the pure brother/ sister relationship during this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan in Cabella, the home of our Divine Mother.

Jai Shri Mataji !

With love from, Your sisters of the Shri Krishna Puja host countries of North, Central and South America.
